Harriet Clark
Glasgow Lucker
(1902-1937)
Born
in August 1902 at Ft. Meade, South Dakota. Jay Jacobs painted her
portrait in Paris in 1928. She was living with and serving as
hostess for her brother, William, who in 1931 was stationed in
Tientsin, China. While there she met and married Harry Adolf
Lucker, an American civilian working as a lawyer in China for Ford
Motor Company. The couple had three children, William, Josephine,
and Harry Jr.
Harriet contracted tuberculosis and returned to El Paso
with the children. She died in 1937 and was buried in Evergreen
Cemetery.
The children were raised in the Magoffin Home by their
grandparents. Harry remained in China. He lived his last few
months in the Magoffin Home and is buried in Evergreen Cemetery.
