The
Casa Magoffin Compañeros
The
Casa Magoffin Compañeros (CMC), is a 501-3-C organization founded
in 1992 to support and enhance the programs and preservation of
the Magoffin Home State Historical Site. The CMC operates the
Carriage House Gift Shop at the Magoffin Home, supports and
coordinates a volunteers group and an active docent program, a school
outreach program, it sponsors the biannual Victorian Teas and
other special events at the site.
The
Compañeros provide funding for continued research and publication
activities for the site. Funded
projects include research on the original wallpapers used in the
home, and paint analysis for restoration of interior woodwork. The
group published Magoffin Home: A House Where Spirits Dwell, and
were major contributors to the El Paso County Historical Society
production of "El Paso’s Magoffin Home" a documentary on the site
which aired on KCOS in the spring of 2004.
The
Compañeros are dedicated to the preservation of the historic
Magoffin Home and to the continued development and restoration of
this premier historic site. Funds raised through the membership
program are an important part of achieving this goal. |
